The NextGen Michigan Program Office oversees a series of projects, prioritized by IT Governance, aimed at improving the sustainability, cost effectiveness, and alignment of IT services at U-M. The three categories of projects include:
The Program Office will provide a variety of project support, including:
Methodology: The Program has created a clearly defined methodology, including a variety of templates and guidebooks, for each project to follow in order to plan and execute their projects.
Status Reporting: Status reporting and issue escalation will occur on a weekly basis to provide visibility into the current progress made by each project.
Change Management: A Program-wide Change Management effort is underway to ensure individuals impacted by the new and improved service offerings delivered by NextGen Michigan are accurately defined, engaged and communicated to frequently.
Integration: The Program will help projects integrate their solutions with the shared service provider capabilities, manage dependencies and facilitate IT process consistency and reuse across projects.
Program Governance: The Program will play a role in developing guiding principles and approaches in addition to driving the resolution of key program and project decisions.
Workforce Transition: The workforce transition in support of NextGen Michigan will be a collaborative process between the Program, Academic Units and Administration. Read about the guiding principles that will ensure fair and equitable decisions are made.
